TF81sc valve body: unit characteristics

The TF-81SC AT is a 6-speed hydromechanical gearbox with 4 clutch packs, one brake band, and an overrunning clutch. An intermediate shaft is used to transfer torque to the differential unit. The fluid distribution in valve is controlled by 8 solenoids.

The AF40 valve body was created by Aisin Warner as a modification of TF-80SC for engines of 2 L – 4 L and a torque of up to 450 Nm. An electromechanical unit is used to control the operation of the gearbox.

The TF81sc valve body consists of a block and solenoids, automatic transmission mechanical part oil is used as a hydraulic fluid. Solenoids carry out the main function of setting operating modes of AT: gear shifting, torque converter lockup, switching between Park / Reverse / Drive regimes.
